Pond Positioning

The whole purpose of having a pond in your garden is to enjoy it, so try to position your pond in a location that is easily accessable and easily viewed on a day to day basis.

You should also bear in mind access for routine maintenance even during those cold wet days in winter. So avoid locating your pond in a remote corner of your garden that you rarely use.

Also consider the position of any mature trees in your garden, these and other plants will shed leaves in the autumn and winter left uncleaned in the water they will rot and cause pollution problemsfor the fish.

Where posible try to locate your pond close to your house so you can see your fish during the cold seasons but bear in mind the foundations of your house and other buildings
