Fish and more, Delivered to your door
Thank you for your purchase from Aqualife 2 U.
Your new fish have just been through a very stressful time, they have been caught, bagged and transported for anything up to 24 hours so don't be surprised if your new fish refuse food at first, this is perfectly normal. They may also seem motionless and sit on the bottom of your pond, again this is nothing to worry about, just allow them time to settle into their new surroundings and they will be fine.
We have put together a simple guide below to help you with the acclimatisation of your fish. Please take time to read through it before releasing your fish.
Step 1
Carefully remove the bag from the transportation box, its best to do this in a dimly lit room - the fish have been in darkness for a long period of time and the shock of bright light is enough to send the fish into shock, after a few minutes place the un-opened bag on the surface of your pond/tank allowing the water temperatures to equalise (on sunny warm days keep the bag in the shade).
Step 2
After 20 minutes carefully remove the elastic band and allow some of your pond water to mix with the water in the bag, repeat this process over a few minutes so that any differences in the waters chemistry won't be such a sudden shock to the fish.
Step 3
Once the fish are used to the water in your pond gently tilt the bag allowing the fish to swim freely into your pond/tank.
Deceased Fish
Great care is taken with regard to the welfare of your fish. However, there are rare occasions when fish do not survive during transportation or within the 5 day guarantee period. If this occurs please refer to our deceased fish guide.
